I would also alter your CV depending on the job your applying for. Put in as much relevant information for that role as possible and remove things that they wont want to see.
Do not use an odd text format as it will look poor and will prob end in the bin.
the ideal format i prefer is

Name
Address
Personal Statement
Employment (MOST RECENT FIRST.no one wants to read about your paper-round at 13 lol)
Education
References
