Anybody can visit a Masonic lodge, but to become a Freemason you must be invited.
To become a Freemason you must pay a yearly fee to your lodge.
At one time, being a Freemason could open doors for you, I think it is less so these days.
In times of need, Freemasons will help each other out of the shit.
