Had mine done by ultralase 2 years ago cost me £3000. my prescription at the time was L -5.25 and R -4.75. Paid extra for the wavefront as it offered a much better chance of perfect vision. Before the op couldn't really make out the top line without glasses, now i can read the bottom line.

Downsides: wearing plastic eye guards on a night for 2 weeks so you don't catch your eyes.
3 lots of eye drops every 4 hrs for the first 2 weeks.
Vision still took nearly a year to get to my current prescription.
Reduced night time vision including slight double vision.
Don't want to sound negative, I would still have got it done even if i knew this.
