deffo drill them m8, the double sided tape will pull the two layers of plastic on the plate apart and in time will allow water behind and it will look shite, plus it can fall off. unless u dont use it in the wet
they should be fine with double sided sticky tape, my s2 plates were fitted like this and were fine for 3 years and prob still on the car like this now
