As for your question boxing forms, i presume you mean fighting styles such as Outfighting where you work from range behind your jab or infighting where you look to get close and hit with mutliple punches.
If you mean defensive guards such as Peek a boo or the philly shell then these are things a proper boxing trainer will teach based on what he believes your ability to be.
christ you know alot
im doing it as a hobby tbh, its not fitness as such but more to help me speed up reactions when training to get bigger in the gym,,,,,, and socialise too
actually i dont know why im doing it,, but its fun i guess
your SOOOO right about sparing though,,,,,, i done boxing for a few months when i was 14 and i thought i was good at it,,, all i learnt was blocks and how to stand and thow a punch and spar in a mirror,,,, in the ring im a fucking disgrace

My dad use to teach in our local boxing club and helped train fighters such as Ray Close and John Lowry when they where first starting out\as kids. He used to teach me and my brothers as well but we where all into football.
If you are looking to quicken up then I would recommend using a floor to ceiling ball and a speed bag as these improve your hand speed but also the floor to ceiling bag will improve your side to side movement and reflexes and most importantly timing.
