The tick seems to be often diagnosed as a manifold gasket but turns out to be the head gasket - Apparently there's an inherent weakness in one spot and many blow through - but then continue to drive without any noticeable loss in driveability for many many miles.

It does seem to be alarming that so many go, but *touch wood* mine's still sweet, and it's reassuring that they can take the miles.
