i got caught by a copper with a laser gun behind a brick wall in an empty tunnel. was doing 47 in a 30. the 30 sign was a good couple of miles and several major round abouts back down the road and this road was empty and down hill. felt like a 40 an speed just krept up bein down hill.

i got a fpn (fixed penalty notice) for 3 points and 60 quid fine.

i dont like the way they go about it but i was speeding, by quite a bit, and so bit the bullet and didnt contest it. been driving now for bout bout 2.5 years and kept a clean liscence till this about a month ago.

i've just found the fpn in my wallet actually, lol. anyway i've learnt my lesson and now keep a closer eye on my speed. i'm no saint though

does seem a bit harsh though for your mate but then it depends on the road, time of day, conditions, etc.
