It will probably have a clip on the end of the shaft that is in the diff - need to take the bottom plate off the diff.

I am pretty sure you can only split the shaft at the wheel end, so to get the inner one on, you will have to take off the outer one first. there is then a circlip inside the outer cv joint that will let you take that off the shaft.
