All month I've been doing something called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) - an American idea to get people writing.
Like many people I've often thought I had a book in me, but never had the time or the inclination to make a start until this came along. The challenge is to write 50,000 words in the month of November, and I finished earlier this evening - less than an hour before I turned 44!
I honestly don't think it's good enough to be published, even after I go back and tidy it up, tie up the loose ends and so on, but I had fun and want to tell everyone that I'm actually quite chuffed with myself, both for doing the 50k (which isn't actually a very big book - I reckon a Rebus is about 150k) - but the fact that I set a goal and hit it.
