I need a new one

Driving the cabbie home from the garage its been sat in at my mates for the past year to my own garage earlier, plodding along giving it a 'few' beans and KA-POW white smoke eat ya heart out

Its running a standard Ford headgasket at the mo or it was, what should i replace it with? Don't really want to go thru this again if i can help it
