LOL lads lads lads,
Im a ex evo owner and MOD here
www.lancer-evo.net
I know a little about evo's and the above is bollox
The engine is VERY VERY VERY dam good, the handling is second to none on tarmac and gearbox's transfer boxes and drive shafts are all very strong
Tuning is very easy, but MUST be done correctly
Fuelling is the main concern when modding.
The worst thing for going wrong is the AYC diff at the rear, it needs the oil changing every 3000 miles or so and must be done by a mitsu dealer or a specialist evo tuner like Mark Shead or Rc developments etc.
Other bad point on the evo 6 is the front brakes, they need upgrading, not through lack of size but through the design of the bell on the discs
the brakes only squeal with harder pads installed
clutches can last 20,000 miles or 60,000 depends a lot on driving style
check out our site above and have a look at the buyers Guide thats the best advice
you wont look back
