the ABS light wont go off

i know i posted this in general discussion too but i really need to find out for mot purposes

bled all the brakes.....twice

the only thing that i can think of now is that after the crash the drivers side abs lead got sheared in two by the calliper.....got a new one, wired it up but the lights still on

would the brain need re-setting because its registered a fault in the past? like it does if the airbag goes off?
