Sick can be deemed as you not meeting the terms of your contract, i.e. you will show up at x address for 8hrs etc.

If you look at it the right way, the threat of being sacked could be the nudge you need to go and find something else to have a go at for a while and see how it goes. No-one wants to employ someone who has been sacked for being off too long, so get on it!
