i think it's called the beuford scale or soemthing
they were going to get rid of one of the guys at work due to him having had 55 days off sick in one year but then they busted him with some weed in his van so job done
but there are 2 others who have also been given "unofficial" warnings regarding their absences
so, if you don't know what the company rules are, then don't guess
me on the other hand, i was off for 7 weeks with my kidneys and they didn't say a word, but i could work from home so even though i was being paid sick money, i was still "working"
he was a driver and was going out and getting pissed and then not coming in the next day
as far as i am aware, they won't "sack" you, they'll just "let you go" so find out what the rules are for sickness
with our company they pay you for 20 days "at their descretion" so if you were to have loads of days off sick, they just don't pay you regardless if you have a docrots note or not becuase that's in the contract and that's what they do
you soon come back if you aren't getting paid and can only claim ssp
of course, if you genuinly are sick for a long period of time and the company treats you like this then perhaps it's time to switch companies
