Well I was very happy overall with Admiral, id been insured with them for the last 10 months on one of their bonus accelerator schemes. Anyway my insurance expired 4 days ago and I didnt want to renew seeing as my Corsa is now dead. Just checked my direct debit account to find that they have taken £53 for a new policy, and as that account had no money in it as there was none needed in it, it will have incurred me a £30 overdraft charge aswell.
Now I phone them up to explain the situation, they say that they have automatically renewed my policy, even though I have told them not to. To begin with, they were only willing to refund me £29 worth of the £53 policy, to cover the time for which I was insured (Which in total was 4 days - hardly worth justifying a £24 loss). After a bit of fighting and speaking the manager I have got them to agree to refund the full amount which they took from my account, however they are not prepared to pay the bank charges.
I am going to keep fighting this and I will get the money for the bank charges if it kills me, just out of principal.
So the moral of this story is, keep well away from Admiral
