Are you sure that as his gauges are Autometer ones that this isn't 1400° F, as that is what the Yanks tend to do temps in.... ?

It's just that 1400°C and the turbo would be a molten mass, whereas 1400°F is just 760°C, which is what you would expect after just a few seconds of ALS .
