Holla, with my Xr3i i've wired brushed it down as best as possible and banged off rust (thus going right through the floor in a few places!) and after the few small bits of welding, i trated it with Hammerite Kurust (as mentioned above), then used waxoil car underseal. The stone chip stuff is yet to go on but i have that in waiting, then probably a layer of hammerite paint aswell. Its a time consuming process my friend
