Ive recently had an rs turbo engine and clutch by the looks of things fitted to my mk5 escort cabriolet.

PROBLEMS : Lots of squeeling, grinding and reverse drops out.

Questions are:

Whats the problem with the gearbox?
Do i just change the clutch and hope for the best?

The clutch i think was the rsturbo one, but the gearbox is off my 1.4.... help would be greatly appreciated.
