Default Oil from D.V.

Hi guys,
This has probably been asked before,Ill start from the beginning any way,
My S1 has been laid up in the workshop for about a year. Every week or so i would go out and start it but not drive it. To day was a great day here so i decided to go for a drive. Collected the car and started driving it home to give it a polish. This trip is about 6/7 miles. About half way home
i got an oily smell in the car. Cautiously continued home. Parked at my house and noticed rather more smoke than normal from the exhaust. Popped the bonnet and to my horror found that oil had been spraying from the dumpvalve all over my newly detailed engine bay. Other than this the car is driving and boosting normally. The engine is more or less standard, just a dumpvalve filter and exhaust no chip and running standard boost. Ive had the car quite a while now and has never gave me any hassle whatsoever. I just find it quite strange that something like this can happen out of the blue with no warning. Could it be with the car sitting so long without being driven?? I hope some one here can tell me what sort of trouble im in and how expensive it will be to put right.
Thanks in advance,
Mark.
