Default 64 Bit.... Worth Doing??

Hi Guys, i've never actually done anything with 64 bit XP or Vista and am looking at giving it a go. I'm a bit ashamed to say that i've never tried it as i work in IT but could never really be arsed.

I've got a 64-bit board and processor now so i'm considering going with 64 bit Vista Ultimate for my home machine (I Wont be buying it, so cost isnt an issue.... MSDN subscription )

Has anyone used 64 bit either xp or vista, and is it backwards compatible with the usual 32 bit apps etc, Nero, Roxio, Alcohol 120, Office 2k7 etc etc??

Whats it like on resources? more/less processor/memory hungry??

Been running Vista 32-bit since November without any issues

Cheers

Dave
