Hi,

I have a mk5 escort rs 2000 and I have a strange problem. After a long drive I get a loud tapping noise from the engine. I have checked for the noise and can only find it near the fron of the engine, alternator etc.

I have checked the alternator and it is charging fine but I am getting the battery light on without tapping!!!

I also have a severe steering problem. All parts are new except second hand steering rack (power steering) do you have to bleed the rack? as everytime i get it tracked about 200 yards down the road it goes funny and pulls all over the place.

The whole front end dont feel safe!

anybody gor any ideas?

Power steering pump maybe?
