Default P8 anomolie

here is a wierd one. on my big tubo escos,

is there any apparent reason why this might happen other than a faulty ecu?

disarm the alarm, put keys in and turn to click 2, no fuel pump running and no ISCV click. turn back to off and back to click 2 and away it goes.

if i try to start it on the first attemp it wont go - it will crank but with no fuel pump running so it dont start.

now ive replaced the fusebox, those manky feeds from the battery, donme away with the multiplugs under the bonnet behind the headlight, new ignition switch , new ingition and fuel pump relays and earthed the ecu case and run extra earth from the battery to the engine and body.

this isn't really a problem as it does this EVERY time i start it (hot or cold)and ALWAYS starts after turnoing the ignition off and back on.

i've even had a multimeter from the live feeds form the fusebox through theignoition swicth etc, and there is 12.5 volts there on each occasion, and as the circuit is completed by the ecu switching the ground connection, im led to think that it must be the ecu at fault.

anyone know what could cause this internal to the P8 as it is replcatable 10 times out of 10.
