Yeah sure, it is possible Muse will get to the top and then the songs will begin to slide - personally I don't think so as you take the last 4 albums and they have only got better and better. Absolution (album #3) is, in the opinion of many, not just myself, a better album that album #1...

Again I disagree - you are choosing to say you won't find a better band live than Oasis cos your are an Oasis fan - I am not! I would HATE and Oasis gig. Personally, out of the hundreds of bands I have seen over the years, Metallica still put on the best show IMO... I personally don't fell you'll find a better live band than them, but it is all relative to what bands you like, so there's no real comparrison......

I never once comparred Metallica's MUSIC to that of Muse. Seems you did, but not me. Not once did I even reference it. I comparred they way the two bands were formed, and how they achieved what they achieved, and how their success has been rated. Nothing to do with music, or even musical style. You need to see the bigger picture here and stop thinking of bands in terms of the music they play.

No, not every band starts at the bottom. Many bands are formed from existing bands, or are put together by already successfull musicians which elevates their chances (and often garantee's it) their chances of success. I mean, if Paris Hilton was a nobody, do you think she would have got a chart rating with her abysmal single that she did? Of course not. And yes it IS tough to get a recordingin contract - but not as tough as it was 10, even 5yrs ago - and I agree you have to have the songs. Using that logic, does it not prove Muse DO have the songs, otherwise how did they get a record contract and spawn 4 top selling albums to launch them into the stratosphere?

Personally I didn't like it, but I aprreciate the artistic talent in it. And nearly every band has a new album comparred to it's "best" - Metallica, for example again, are always having an album comparred to their self-titled release, and nearly every heavy metal album is comparred to thier MASTER OF PUPPETS album, which is still the cornerstone for heavy metal music.

Again, mis understood. I do not think the sun shines out of Muse's arse. Not at all, and I never said it did, nor did I post any inclination that I thought that to be the case. I simply started a thread about a band that I honestly quite like at the moment. I will stand up and defend them when faced with one-sided and shitty arguments and attacks against them that are unfounded, but that doesn't mean I love them or they are my favourite band. My favourite band is Metallica, and I think they sun shines out of their asses. I also think the sun shines out of the rear end of Dream Theater, who I think are one of the best, and most technical, bands on the face of the earth. But I never said I thought Muse were the greatest, the best or the most deserving band, in any shape or form...
