Muse is an ideal choice, you said "they've been around for 10 years, what were they doing for the first 8?" I think you'll find they came on the scene in around 00/01 so thats the best part of 7 years, take into acount 3 years for writing and finding a sound that works and gelling as a band and it all ads up, just casue you and all your mates down the pub wear rose tinted shades and think its still 1995 doesnt mean Muse are shit, seeing as you obviously dont know how long they've been around you wont know how good they are live and how highly rated their show is, I'm not even a massive fan, but some of their tunes are awesome and they deserve the respect they get, having a new band in their prime open wembley is a great idea, getting some washed up has beens isnt

wooooooaaah!!! hold yer fuckin horses mate, im not saying that oasis should be first in line to play wembley, ive never put that in any of the posts on this thread, my first choice would be the stones as they were are one of the best bands to ever come out of this country and are still going strong. im saying that if its got to be a new sound then it should be arctic monkeys or kasabian as they piss all over muse every day of the week.
and to be fair i dont wear rose tinted sunglasses and its 2006 u dick
and as for noel copying some fuckin rift for lyla, half of definitely maybe was copied in some way or another but its still the best album to come out for years so your theory is........?
to be honest you could tell me til im blue in the face that muse are the next big thing and there so good live etc.... but when there songs come on the radio i put a cd on when they come on the telly i put the news on cos thats more exciting, 4 or 5 people wearing make up and singing student rock does nothin for me and it never will do
Next big thing, where do you live? under a rock, they're already big!
What I meant with Lyla was a straight copy, not influence like earlier stuff, yeah they were always banging on about the beatles and shit but I wouldnt say any of the ealry stuff was identical.
Mate, I'm a massive stones fan, they are probably the best band ever to come from these isles, not very current though and havent had any decent new material for ages, they also wouldnt really appeal to a young crowd, las tthing you want when opening a new national stadium for a new era is a load of dads doing the dad dance to a bunch of 60 year olds.
I just have bigger respect for musicians/talent as a whole, I respect any proper band thats made it on their own regardless of whether I like them or not, and for someone just to come out and say they're shit is madness!!
