they might as well have booked the winner of x-factor to open it

Sorry I know I'm biased cos I think Muse are Fantastic, but surely you opinion is a load of shit
I think you will find that Muse have been winning Best Live act awards for the last 5 years or so, so surely they deserve just like anyone else, especially as the beat some of the so called superstars!? and as for the X-factor comment, whether you like Muse or not, get a grip, they started on their own about 10 years ago and made it to where they are now, not alot of bands can say that theses days as most of them are manufactured from shit like X-factor, sorry rant over.
well its my opinion, i wouldnt accept a freebie to go see them, there terribly overrated, and in years to come when people ask who played the first gig at the new wembley and they hear muse's name, most of the responses will be "who?"
and where exactly did they win "best live act" the purple turtle in camden?
lets face it there are better bands out there who deserve it more than muse, bands that have been at the top for decades, the stones, u2, oasis, Paul weller, chili peppers, even take that are more deserving of the first headline shot, the list could go on and on as well.
and the x-factor comment was made as a joke, so maybe you should get a grip and realise that this is the internet
rant over

Why are they more deserving? Because there better known?
Fecks sake, as for Chilli Peppers U2 there not English Bands so why would it make sense for them to open wembley stadium?
And the Stones and Oasis, The Stones haven't released any new material for ages. So it makes no sense for them to open it. And all Oasis's last album was shit. If they wanted a nostalgic gig, yeah get Oasis in.
But it's a NEW place, Muse are one of the best live bands here at the moment and have released some good new material.
So if you don’t think Muse deserve to open it, come up with a decent alternative…
sorry mate but your talkin complete shit there!!! the comment about the oasis album proved it, the importance of being idle was one of the best oasis songs ive ever heard
you stick to your new music, maybe in 10 years time when you've grown up a little your mind might be able to take in a good song or 2

Your one of these musical snobs aren't you.
I've got all of Oasis's pervious albums, listen to Defintely Maybe then listen to Don't Believe The Truth and tell me it's as good.
Yeah Lyla and The Importance Of Being Idle were alright tracks, but nothing great. Nothing like Rock 'n' Roll Star, Live Forever, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Don't Look Back In Anger, Roll With It, Champagne Supernova.
Not that I'd know because clearly I need to grow up and take in a few good songs

. What ever you may believe Oasis are only a shadow of there former selfs. Maybe thats why they've released a greatest hits album.
Anyway you may think Muse are crap, but in the eyes of alot of people there a decent band. And all the awards they've been winning recently pretty much backs this up.
Also I said come up with a Decent alternative to Muse and yet you'e said nothing so lets hear your thoughts then.....
musical snob? what fuckin drugs are u on? its either good or its shit, end of. oasis maybe a shadow of themselves, but they are still one of the best bands around today, if the importance of being idle was written by the arctic monkeys everyone wouldnt have shut up about it, definitely maybe was definitely maybe, how old is it now 13 yrs old? and it would still piss over every other bands debut album. but no one will write a better debut album and to be honest oasis will never be able to beat it. but people like you will never be able to get that
and dont believe the truth had some amazing songs on it. turn up the sun, the meaning of soul, lyla, importance of being idle, a bell will ring, thats 5 songs there and there was only 10 or 11 on the album.
you never told me what muse were doing for the first 8 of their 10 years yet? playing to smelly pubs in devon cos they werent as good as everyone else?

cos i only remember them being about for the last 2, if that?
if your after alternatives, the arctic monkeys, kasabian, in my eyes 2 of the best bands around at the moment, they sell shit loads more than muse ever will do and there songs are much better. u could even go for pop bands, such as take that.
muse might be kerrangs or Q's best live act, but who are they up against? limp biscuit and all that american shite more than likely, and who votes for them? some posh kid in oxford who wants to rebel against mummy and daddy cos hes sick of wearing dickie bo's to church?
muse, my chemical romance and bands of that stature will be here today gone tomorrow. and when u think back in 5 years time you'll be thinking "that fuckin geezer on pf was spot on, shouldve took note"

You can't compare Muse to My Chemical Romance.
As for what they've been doing. They've been pretty well known since 2001 when the album Origin of Symmetry was released. 2003 Absolution the 3rd album was released a single well known off this is Time Is Running Out. And now 2006 Black Holes And Revelations.
Not saying there the best band out there at the mo, but there by no means shit! At the 2005 Brit Awards, Muse got awarded the "Best Live Act" award. So it just seems to make sense to me that there playing at the new wembley stadium.
Arctic monkeys and Kasabian are alright, but you don't really know whether there here to stay or just a flash in the pan. Because there not exactly established bands.
As for Take That, not really my thing but I'm sure they'll play the new wembley stadium pretty soon. Don't deserve to open it though IMO.
As for Oasis,
Quoted by you:
definitely maybe, how old is it now 13 yrs old? and it would still piss over every other bands debut album. but no one will write a better debut album and to be honest oasis will never be able to beat it. but people like you will never be able to get that
Yeah, I think it's a fucking great album. As for not getting it, I think Oasis have lost the edge they first had now. And i'm sure even they know that!
Anyway, enough said on this. If you don't like Muse fair enough, but you must not have a clue if your comparing them to My Chemical Romance.
