Just get him to send them back to you, refund him the cost and sell them again.
You might lose on some postage, but you keep your rep and perhaps have to swallow it as one of lifes lil pills that it gives us now and again.
Hopefully keeping his records and refusing any future sails to him as well.
Plus that way you get the satisfaction of knowing that he will buy some "broken" ones off someone else too
