He just emailed me asking when he's getting his refund, so I sent this back

Hi

I've sent the stereo away to be tested as I noticed one of the wires for a remote control is cut and there is a burn mark on the back of the unit that I know was not there when I sent it. I've asked a local shop here to test it and try and determine how this happened. I expect to get the stereo back midweek and then I'll email you with an update.

Cheers

Matt

He then reples with

thats exactly how the unit was when i received it, it has not been tampered with in any way

So I reply with

Hi

I'm not looking to blame anyone. I know it wasn't like that when I sold it as it had been used in my car prior to the sale. It could well have been the shop that fitted it on your behalf that have done this. You have to understand from my point of view, this could have happened after the sale. I'm looking to try and find out (at my own cost) whether or not I should issue the refund. If it turns out that I do, then it'll be done, no problems. But, you can't blame me for wanting to find out. Else, you have your money back and I have a broken stereo.

Regards

Matt

I think I'm being reasonable enough about this. Wish I'd told him to stick it now, the hassle just isn't worth it

Cheers
