I believe L6 has less resolution on the map.

I already think L8 is too restricted really compared to modern ECU's, so i certainly wouldnt want to go any less.



Porkie, i did think that but was worried Phil would take it personally if i pointed out the obvious that his spec is pretty tame in the grand scheme of things, its not like its dry sumped on a custom crank and rods and running nikosil liners etc

As far as i can gather from whats been posted its:
standard lifters
standard block
standard crank
standard rods
standard pistons (machined a little)
standard valves
standard sump
standard oil pump with a firmer spring
standard dizzy arrangement
ported head
hotter cams
probably a decent head gasket



As you and me both well know though, the standard engine is so good that it really doesnt mean that spec wont be good for some pretty monster power (500bhp+ seems very realistic) but it does make you wonder what Phil would think about the various engines some of us build in terms of how "massive" their spec was in terms of the number of modified parts!
