car tried to kill itself tonight...
I'm having no luck whatsoever with this ....... car...
came home from work today, stopped at shop.. got shopping walked out and my heart broke... water pishing from the bottom of my car.
I was literally just round the corner so i got in and told her if she got us home i promise to fix whatever it is.
I thought at first I had blown the waterpump cos when i opened the bonnet the water was everywhere. I got under the car to find water dripping all the way down from the top of the engine bay, over the alternator belt, all through the alternator (its totally drenched) and finally dripping to the ground.
in the top if the engine its covered all the wires and multiplugs in the drivers side of the engine bay. I had a poke about but couldnt see anything... my partner came home and by this time it had cooled off a bit so he stuck his hands in and about the pipes...
the alternator belt / (drive belt) has cut through my radiator hose.
I feel like crying really i do, I've just got her running right.
the cut is at the top of the hose, but even now after 5 hours sitting, water is still dripping from under the car. I havent moved her and have no intention of doing so. My partner says we can patch it up but i dont feel happy about this.
has anyone else had this happen? I'm sure my car is actually trying to kill itself. would patching it be a good idea or should i just get the hose changed... also will the belt and pullys needs replaced?
