i got a f reg escort and it works ok but latley its cuts out

its starts fine then i could be down the road and just dies on me then it wont start you have to leave it for ten mintues before trying again

it mainly happens when got full her up and cuts out dont matter if short of long trip

also if i start up on drive and leave it running does same thing only start doing this week

also something it gets so bad that wont start again and have to leave it over night and try again in morning

so people have said to me could be fuel pump or cap any ideas just dont want go buying stuff it dont need
