I might be talking out my arse here but I understood from a test once done that running a P4 cpu too cold (outside its normal operating temps) that it actualy reduces the performance of the chip?

The advantage of getting the temperatures down that low are only that you can overclock the chip and therefore the temps increase back to normal operating temps and the byproduct is extra cpu speed without reducing the life of the chip?

I have noticed my P4 seems to slow up when the fans are run flatout and the CPU temps start below 15-20ºc (unclocked), but reduce the fan speed and watch the cpu temps come up to 40ºc (unclocked) and the cpu seems to speed up again. Maybe thats just me seeing something thats not there.
