In case you didn't know, ive had a Misfire for some time and have not been able to find the fault.
Somebody has suggested i check the ECT sensor, and so i have and this is what ive found.
Its still connected to the engine so i checked it at the ECU connector as described in the manual.
Now...The temp today was fairly normal. Not too hot not too cold.
My ACT gauge showed 15deg.
So i think it would be fair to expect the water to be around the same as it hasn't been run for a few days.
This being the case, the resistance should be about 4875ohms for 15deg.
However, im getting 1846ohms, which according to my calculations should be a temp of 37deg
This sensor is virtually Brand New, i still have the old one so tried that too (although it was not fitted). This gave me a reading of 2668ohms which should be 26deg.
Anybody have any idea what the hell is going on????
Are these both Duff?
Is there anything else i can do before confining them to the bin?
