The RS badged cars were around in the 70's well before the turbos were fitted, go back to Escort MK1's, look at the Mexico rally car, that where it all started. I think there has always been a "snob" value to these cars, owning a XR4i was laughed at by certain RS owners, clubs were established to help and get like minded people to-gether for the benefit of all, sadly another side also appears. Anyone should be able to do what they like to any car, others can learn from this and should they decide to " modify " their car advice can be asked and given, without anyone doing work on they own cars no one would learn how and what to do to their own one, difficulty, cost or time.
