If you can afford it I'd got for Fox F100 RLC. Awesome damping, very stiff and pretty light. I also rate the Rockshox Reba Team. It doesnt have the Fox lifespan (seals arent as good) but I think the damping is actually better than the Fox and it felt jsut as stiff.

The type of riding I do is called 'All mountain' these days. Drop offs, fast rough downhill and XC - So thats what I'd recommend those for.
