is it....a BMW m5 v10 is faster to 60...faster to 120....only the topspeed is limited...how fast do you think a BMW m5 v10 drive without it...
Do you have the figures,for 0-60 and 0-120,then ?? As I recall,the M5 was 0.1 sec different to the Carlton,but I can't remember which way!

As for top speed,it's all down to the gearing ----if you run out of revs, you won't go any faster,no matter how much power you have !!
I seem to remember that the modded Carltons were capable of 185/190 mph. Plus, the Carlton had a 3.6 ltr engine, whilst the M5 has a 5 ltr engine.
plus the carlton has 2 turbo's which the bmw hasnt..
I would have to say that the fact that the BMW does it without turbos make it all the more impressive!

I was at the nurburgring late last year watching Sabine in the new shape M5 giving it plenty. You wouldn't get even slightly close to her in a Carlton, tuned or otherwise!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Carlton, but the new BMW M5 has evolved into something that the Carlton simply couldnt live with at any time!
