If you understand how it works, You shouldnt really be asking these questions, Its pretty simple really, Metering head > Turbo > Intercooler > Inlet. On a car with K or KE jetronic you cant have an air leak anywhere, If you have a leak it wont idle.
This is why you cant use a single piston or diaphram dump valve on the Escort RST
