Well,
depends on the condition of the pump and electrical system you have, but most cossies will start to spit dummies at elevated fuel pressure as the extra load on the fuel pump adds extra load to the shonky 15yr old wiring which often leads to engine meltdowns so you have to be vigilant to say the least.
The reason its commonly done is to help out with the aforementioned induction stroke timebase limitation again by firing more fuel in the available timeframe. It does help with this but its not free power as it does in turn place extra stress on things.
Another issue IMO is this:
Say you buy this extra fuel pressure equipped vehicle second hand, the fuel regulator fails, so you sensibly fit a nice new standard one and she promptly melts first time you nail her.... Then what will you be saying? "Stu @ MSD chipped this, and its melted"
Tricky scenario..... lol
Switch,
Stu what are the costs involved in getting a good fuel return from the greys and how much cost wise, ish,
varies depending on what Ecu and car you have as it needs lambda input to teh ecu and level 8. Prob easier and faster to discuss by phone.
mattbibs,
and what is after greys? blacks i think i heard sum1 say - or they having a laugh?
Colour means nothing really. After greys with marelli id personally be looking at 750cc then 1000cc. Im interested in getting the 1600s to work if anyone want to try?
