Ok, I am quite annoyed to say the least.

I bought an MFi XR3i last week that has been dry stored for 2 years. Tootled about in it for a while then got it on the rollers for a tune up. Needed new plugs and came out a little noisey. This turned out to be the water pump and 4 tappets collapsing at once.

OK, fixed that.

Then, next day it lost all oil pressure and started to tap its cock off. WTF i thought.

So, I towed it to the garage and left it with them to change the oil pump. They havent done it yet but have had it running to move it about etc etc and say its been running sweet since then


Now I'm confused. Could it be shit oil clogging the pump? Could the pump be failing intermittently or do they just go? What else could be causing this?


I am at a loss, but seriously fucked off at buying a car I cant drive.
