there's two very similar versions, that is the cheaper of the two.. the more expensive one is better, both optically faster (bigger glass lets more light in) and it has a "Ring USM" motor which allows you to manually override the focus at any time without switching the lense to manual. Focusing is also very quick with the ring motor.
This is the dearer one that I have and Cossiebros has mentioned earlier..
