Firstly, Simon is not involved with the building or repair of these, so any repair work has a five day turnaround.
Secondly, the fluctuation of the water temps has nothing to do with the sensitivity of the SECS monitor, but is actually what is happening real time. My Pectel monitor is the same and the water temps fluctuate with speed. Also, I have a digital oil pressure gauge, and the oil pressure (naturally) fluctuates with revs - I suppose you'll be saying next that this is because the gauge is too sensitive

too much information, but it certainly isn't a case of ignorance is bliss, as ignorance can cause a catastrophic failure

. You soon learn to realise wjat is normal fluctuations and that allows you to identify what is abnormal
