What do I know and what Ford did by the way is that when you fit a hose on a pipe you'll need a boss (I'm not sure on the word I mean an extantion on the diameter) to avoid the hose to move back!
Obviously this will remain on the part that will be removed to shorten the pipe
That's why I changed the type of fitting
It's possible to work on the pipe to restore the boss but I found more clever to weld my stuff.

If you loose the pump in the better case you'll have to pull the car until your house, in the worth if you have a leak when driving hard you can simply melt a piston... now you do what you want and you can try to save some money but keep in mind that we are talking about few pounds (nothing compared to the price of the pump and I'm not even talking about an engine rebuilt..)

As I said everybody does what he wants, I just give an option
