its not the mileage your doing with the oil that's the issue really, when you have a tuned engine that you drive hard then the oil temps can go through the roof, this is when you want the protection, you could drive a tuned cossie on treacle for all i care , but when i'm revving to 7k i want to feel safe that the oil isn't gonna break down and turn to shit,

i'll agree that a standard engine will be fine on the manufacturers guidelines regarding oil changes, but as soon as you up the power then as you know things need taking care of more.

£70 for an oil change that's pricey!!

if your happy with your oil then good for you, but when you listen to an expert such as Stu , Karl etc with regards to tuning, and no doubt they are some of the best in their field then why not listen to an expert when it comes to other things? i'm gonna be ordering some oil tomorrow and it's only costing about £30 - £35 delivered.
