No, it doesn't say that. The point is that there are better quality oils out there that are tougher and better for extreme applications. By this I mean modded cars and track days etc.

The Castrol is labelled a synthetic but in fact it is not a proper one (pao/ester based), unlike the others mentioned here which is evidenced by the shear stability which meets the minimums required by API and ACEA.

In conclusion there are better oils out there.

all well and good, thats the same as saying waitrose tea bags are better cause they pass a much harder test so all cafes MUST use it to keep there customers healthy

what im saying is if yu change your oil every 3k ANYWAY considering that oil changes are actually recomended every 12k ( yes the cosworth and erst are in that catogory too belive it or not) then a better oil is no different

silkolene is ment to last longer, THATS the reason to use it, people have been using mobil 1 for years and they have had no issues, ive never heard of a cossie or turbo really packing up to to worn out oil at 3k

that means its as much use as a turning up the stereo to keep a noisy engine quiet

infact contaminated oil is just a excuse to cop out of replacing a turbo under waranty

ill repeat again, a mate uses semi synth in his beige injector frst, always has and hes car dont melt or rattle

infact the only difference ive found is he buys oil for 6quid trade and i pay 70 quid to do a oil change on me cossie
