A few weeks ago my rs turbo started playing up - I put my foot down in 3rd, and it cut out at about 3 1/2 thousand revs.

After a couple of minutes it started again but since then it has done it a number of times whilst stationary, and decellerating etc, so there seems to be no patturn to when it does it. It's now starting to happen more frequently, and is getting on my tits a bit, so I wondered if anyone had any ideas.

It also takes several minutes to start if the engine gets warm and I switch off and go to start it shortly after (eg when getting petrol). Has been doing this for quite a long tome, but thought it was a minor problem at the time.

The fuel pump relay appears to be ok, and you can hear the fuel pump surge when you turn the ignition on. Some people have suggested that the distributor might be on the way out

Any advise would be appreciated, as I dont particularly want to start throwing money at the car if I'm replacing the wrong bits!
