Been having some bad running problems recently. Car missing badly from all over the rev range, often the inability to rev, popping and banging etc...

Thought it could be the CPS so went to Ford and bought a new one. They said the original CPS for a FRST was replaced with the one they have given me...here's a picture.



To me the new one looks like it won't reach in as far as the old one, is this likely to cause problems?

The FINIS code for the new one I've got is 6859702.

Also...its like a bloody soap opera this car LOL.

I noticed this on the wiring.





Looks all melted. I suppose this could cause the above mentioned problems?
