turns out, its not the actual database that is password protected from opening, it used a authentication that used the user id of whoever was signed on the computer, as this is something we found on an old windows 95 machine, we cant plug in on our current win2K network and sign on,
i think that it needs the security bypassing to allow us back in fully again, to remove users and guests etc and leave the admin account in the database in all the other groups so it can be opened. - - i think
