Tyres for escort RS cosworth wheels on a s1 Rst
Hi just wondering what's best for size and performance? The cars on koni adjustables and hardest settings and not lowered. I've seen some toyo proxes t1-r tyres brand new for 205 quid and they are 195 45 r16.
Has anybody ever used these tyres and if so any good?
Also will that size be ok on my car without rubbing?
Cheers in advance people

I have the exact same tyres, same size in the same wheels, albiet on a mk6 fiesta.
Tbh for the price they are a good all round tyre.
I wouldnt expect much if any rubbing on S1 unless you were properly thrashing on on corners.
If you are still converned though, try 195/40's

Nah I'd prefer 45s as around here we have a major problem with pot holes :-( so 45s may help them last a tad longer lol. Nice one mate that's what I wanted to hear lol

Snap, i stick 45's for the same reason.
Just keep your suspension setup simple with no silly droos and you should have no significant problems.

Wedge07 - Theres a chance that 214/40's wont rub but i doubt youd get away with it.
Thrush - the stretched look isnt bad depending on the car and its soring height. Granted there are some stretches out there that are just insane but i think 195/45 is a fair comprimise.

will I get away with 205s then? I just want it to be safe that's all. And the wider the tyre the more grip?? Want as close to the correct size as I can without rubbing. Are the 195s as safe as can be or not?

Ok that's great cheers. There's a big gap between tyres n arches so not going to worrie about rubbing and it doesn't move at all on shockers it's solid. I can bounce on it without it moving n I'm nearly 18 stone lol.

Dont know weather you knew but you will need new wheel bolts to fit them on your car aswel because of the size of the hole where the bolts go threw your standard ones are to thin and after a short time will pull threw and your wheel will come off.
If you go on ebay and put in this item no 280743517964
And those are what you need had to get them for mine
