Default XR2i 16v clutch pedal problem

Hi, I've got a prob with the clutch pedal on my fiesta, sometimes when you depress the clutch it makes a loud clicking noise and the bite point changes, but when you release it it makes a quite click and goes back to normal. Any ideas? I thought it might be the spring moving in its slot but not sure. Really annoying me so I thought I'd ask on here before taking it to a garage. Cheers

It's the auto adjuster on the pedal starting to give up, so needs a new one, the teeth are slipping due to old age/wear very common problem.
