Default Stupid question; OFAB and OFAC..

Hello, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but whats the difference between an OFAB loom/ecu and an OFAC loom/ecu? Basically, im starting to look for a fiesta rs turbo engine to transplant into another car, does the loom/ecu have to match the engine, or are all the engines/sensors the same, with different wiring looms/ecu's for whatever reason?

Thanks, James.

The OFAB ecu has more to offer. more mappable or something like that.

ofac has a boost limit of 15.5psi as you cant change the map sensor. but ofab has no boost limit as you can use cozzy map sensors.

apparently ford changed to ofac as people kept winding the boost up on there new fezzys, blowing the engines, then winding boost back down and returning the cars on warrenty to be repaired lol so they put ofac on to cap the boost at 15psi

Thanks for the information, much appreciated! Are the looms/ecu's interchangeable between engines? For example, if I found an engine from an OFAC car, could i just plug and play the OFAB onto it?

Thanks, James.

I assume you mean are the looms and ecu's interchangeble?
An ofab ecu can be used with an ofac loom and vice versa. im on ofac but will be changing to ofab ecu and cossie map sensor soon so i can up my boost past 15.5psi, just need to move a couple of pins on my ofac loom plug to suit the ofab ecu

hope that helps

edited to add.. just read your original post. yes as far as im aware all the plugs/engine plugs are the same except for the map sensor
