I'm impressed would never have done this myself as I'd imagine that the v6 would be a heavy old lump in the front of a fiesta but hats off to you,it looks good and you've made it neat and looks like your doing a proper job

But this is passionford!! We love pics and some more details

Cheers dude, tbh it's actually not that heavy as it's all ally and no air con, power steering pump, rad n battery in boot, zetec is cast and weighs a ton but a populer swap, suprisingly this isnt much heavier, just have to uprate everything, widened track by 280mm ,vectra gsi coil overs, modded to fit with sierra top bearing.corsa power steering rack, saxo electric steering box, cosworth front discs, focus st rear discs, hubs, calipers, front top and bottom strut, rear welded strut, ajusting panard rod, rear lowering springs, polly bushed, welded cage, mondeo column and impact brace.full mondeo loom (every single wire ) mondeo clocks, stalks etc, stainless de cat manifolds, modded to miss the rack and cross member, there's better engine choices but this was the challenge presented so I had to go with it. Might go round a corner, might not, who knows lol but it's all part of the fun.

Looks like your going to do a cracking job and can't wait to see it come together. Any idea on a completion date and how long you been building it. Definitely different but then I like that

Cheers Dan, it's about 4 months off yet and will be fully checked and an engineers report by Litchfield ford main dealers so thers no problem with registering the charges with dvla, it's just hard to explain to an insurance company, everything has either been modified or fabricated ,it's easier to list what hasn't been modified .windscreen glass and roof skin is original, think that's about it lol

Iv been on it for about 7 months, it was a bit rough when I got it so I striped it completely cut every single piece of rust out,new inner n outer Sills, wings, crossmember , front panel. Mint doors, bonnet, boot and completely striped the pain underneath and inside n re painted so a nice base for silly toy.

From the word go this was the engine that had to be used. I know some people will hate it but my wife nagged me saying it will never fit and to scrap it as it was a pile of crap so me being me I couldn't let her have the satisfaction so I'm about 5 n half grand in and got about 3 grand to go but worth every penny to say f you to all the doubters

I'll probably go down the remote turbo root as these engines are torque but nothing special, supercharger is not an option as ther is zero room left,I know it's been tried before and failed a few times but I'm different. I'm stubborn, I don't tolerate it can't be done. I hear it as it can't be done easily, but who wants easy, this isn't an off the shelf car and that's what I and hopefully a few others will love. I will get it to the Ford fair show. its just a case of time n money,my wife keeps waisting my money on bills dam her

Wide enough?

Nice one thanks. I used to work for T.R transmissions back in the day then went on to own Express transmissions doing gearboxes so used to know most of them, wonder if I recognise any old faces there. I've been out of that trade for about 18 years now, don't miss it 1 bit but still love old fords so thought I'd dig out my tools again lol

Can't stipulate enough the importance of correctly fire walling if you put the tank in the boot, fortunately I'm a refractory engineer so I have as much fire proofing as I could ever need. If anyone is ever stuck for fire blanket shout up .

There allso a fire proof black lexan cover going over the back tank and rad to keep the cockpit separate

Thanks. Yeah mk1 is by far the best looking but it's a fine line between tasteful and o.t.t when heavily modding so got to refrain from tacky lol

Thanks. It's nice to see some people understand the level of work ,time, n money involved in a build like this.thers much more to it than sticking the biggest engine you can get to fit in, and it upsets me to see young kids with little or no mechanical engineering background emulating builds like this with potentially dangerous results. Iv been Involved in engineering my whole working life so remember safety first guys

Cool project this. The engine looks tight in the bay.

I hope the car wont be nose heavy with that big lump in the front.

Tar.they arnt much heavier than a 2.0 zetec. Iv striped everything of that's not needed and weighed it.i built the roll cage myself so weighed every pice and kept it all behind the seats apart from the door bars .no overhead bars as they like to kill people in a crash if no helmet, weighed all firewall steel and rad, tank, battery. E.t.c, widened the track by 280mm, updated suspension, breaks. Duel bias, ajusting shocks, camber bolts,so pretty much done what I can to counter act understeer. when all together and running ill take it to a track for the day for the final ajustments

It's tight when you have to dip the oil through the front grill. Chop the cross member apart, reiforce and re assemble so the oil filter and manifold miss.move the steering rack further into the bulkhead 10mm to miss the other manifold. Reiforced and slimed down the chassis rail in the bay.grind n polish the ribs off the gearbox to miss the tie bar e.t.c e.t.c

Nice one.i like the pic of your escort. I had a mk4 rs n I miss that car so much,it wasn't the fastest car I've ever driven but it was the hardest I've ever pushed a car to its limits and so much fun, best cornering car I've owned but it was an ex performance centres car so best of everything

Productiv day . hybrid fiesta dash to accept mondeo clocks, fiberglass n fill, etch prime ready for flocking, anyone had any success at flocking themselves? Probably make a static charge out of a bug zapper.

looks like an interesting project. whats it going to be used for when finished?
From the word go this was the engine that had to be used. I can sure relate to that statement. my cosworth celica took me 8 years and cost about Ł28G all in so ive heard all those doubters myself but I got there in the end and it was with great pleasure that I proved them all wrong. youll enjoy that first road legal drive all the more when it happens.

Iv built a flocking gun now so I'll give it a go,should be fine , I'm going to use the car to generally any the locals of cannock and to continue to give us petrol heads a bad name lol,so just for the blast now and then,I have a nice daily drive and a works van so don't really need it but it's just something to keep me amused and I'm getting to old to keep falling of my motocross bikes as I don't bounce anymore. 28k on a project! Now that's commitment, fair play to you, there's a lot worse you could spend it on

Tar,it's so I don't have to graft wiring looms together as iv used every single wire from the mondeo doner car as I got the fiesta shell with no wiring and thought it was pointless putting a mk1 fiesta harnes in if I was going to get that engine to run
